It all started with a small need and a bit of "ambition." When I finished Breadth Contract, one of the micro-tools I developed, I needed a short promo video to introduce it on platforms like Reddit and LinkedIn. However, searching for ready-made templates in traditional tools like Premiere Pro turned into a complete waste of time. I couldn't find the modern touch I wanted, even on platforms like Envato.
At that moment, I discovered a "shortcut" supported by LLMs (Large Language Models) that went beyond standard video production techniques. The reactions I received when I shared the video I prepared with this technique became the true turning point of the project.
Criticism: The Ultimate Source of Motivation
Some comments on the video I shared on Reddit went beyond the project and reached the level of insults to my engineering and my person. Yes, maybe my work at that moment wasn't "perfect," but that didn't mean I was a total failure.
This unfair criticism had a reverse effect on me: I had to prove myself and do much better. On top of my hours of overtime, I started to develop a new vision by adding this field that I am passionate about. I know that success won't come immediately; I was ready to do 100 projects if necessary. But this time the idea was different: Could we turn that AI-based video production technique I found into an automation that everyone could use?
From Idea to MVP: A 1-Week Marathon
When I shared the idea with my teammate Furkan, he enthusiastically got to work. However, when we examined the project with Mete, we noticed a handicap: the current structure couldn't scale and required tens of thousands of ready-made assets. Instead, I started working on a new system where every AI request would give us completely unique results.
We divided the tasks as a team and raised the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) in just 1 week by taking the power of modern tools behind us. The secret of our speed in this process was to use current tools effectively:
- LLM Models: It incredibly accelerated the code writing process.
- Supabase: It gave us agility in database management.
- Vercel & Google Cloud Run: It allowed us to handle our deployment and backend services seamlessly.
Product Hunt and Beyond: The Power of Marketing
Nowadays, developing a great product is not enough; it is just as critical to be able to present it correctly. We chose Product Hunt as our route. This launch, where we rose to 35th place with 110 votes, brought us not only traffic but also priceless collaborations:
- We met partners with whom we could solve our payment problems.
- We gained momentum in terms of SEO and visibility by receiving completely free press release support.
- We established a network with other founders and shared our vision.
What’s Next?
Many people think they have done their part by just sharing their project on LinkedIn. However, there are dozens of free tools waiting to be used and thousands of potential users to be reached.
Currently, our project is in the beta process. However, we pivoted the entire structure with the feedback we received. Soon, we will be live again with the full version, which will be much more effective and beneficial to much more people. This is just the beginning; we continue to learn, produce, and prove ourselves.
